Mr. Johann Jacob Herzogenrath was born in 1737. He was the only child who stayed in Nuremberg and as such was granted the citizenship of Nuremberg in 1763. He married Mrs. Wolrab who was the the daughter of Mr. Wolrab, who had been a wealthy businessman and whose widow was still alive and so he became her son in law and as such took over the well established business in Nuremberg, at Wundergasse 8.
