Jacob Reinhard soon became well known in Nuremberg and was well esteemed by his fellow citizens. After spending a few years as a curate he was installed as a preacher in the Pfalz were he married Christine Weyer(in) from Heidelberg.
In 1734 on April the 7th he was elected for priesthood to Nuremberg and was sent there. So he came back to Nuremberg again but not as a curate this time but as the priest and as a teacher of the Nuremberg reformed church community.
At Nuremberg he was known for his excellent work and for his tireless commitment. Unfortunately he eventually became very ill and furthermore was stricken by blindness about seven years before his demise.
But nevertheless he was still very much engaged in his church work and kept on preaching until he finally was bed-bound. After 4 years of utter suffering he died on the 6th of March 1753.
